Early English Delft

• Handmade Early English Delftin England
Hand decorated

During the second half of the 16th Century a number of Flemish potters, fleeing the Spanish Inquisition, settled here in England. From this beginning, a delftware industry was born which was to survive some two hundred years in various parts of the British Isles - only to disappear with the Industrial Revolution and subsequent introduction of machine made tiles. Here are Fired Earth's carefully researched interpretations of those elusive designs, now hand decorated by a local studio.
